It's widely advised not to breed your rabbits. Rabbits are overpopulated in many areas around the world. In North American shelters, hundreds of rabbits are killed every year just because there's not enough room. If you have the resources to care for more rabbits, consider adopting from a local shelter. It will love you!

If you do decide to breed your rabbits, spend some time beforehand researching how to do it safely so that all the rabbits can be happy and healthy. Seek veterinary care for all the rabbits, too. There are many resources online that can help you. And make sure you have good homes for all of them beforehand!

If you have a 4-month-old rabbit, and a 3-month-old rabbit, you have another 3 to 4 months before they can breed.

You shouldn't breed a pair of rabbits until they are both 6 months old. The gestation period of a rabbit is 28-32 days. Once the buck and doe are both six months you can either breed them on a table or bring the doe to the bucks cage but whatever you do, DO NOT put the buck in the does cage. Does are very protective of their cages. (Make sure your rabbits are not living in the same cages. Please. You cannot have a buck and a doe living in the same cage). Write down the date you bred them and on the 28th day give the doe a wooden nest box full of shavings and hay. She will usually make a nest and pull hair and most of the time will have kits alive and well in the box.

Four months might be too young for the male rabbit to be mature enough to sire offspring. The American Rabbit Breeders Association website (www.arba.net) is a good source of information on rabbits.
