A simple reset will cure whatever ails your Sidekick. To start, remove the battery and SIM card from your Sidekick. From there, flip the Sidekick open and hold the "R" key, then put the battery back in the Sidekick. Do not, however, insert the SIM card yet. At this point, the Sidekick should restart itself. Make sure not to let go of the "R" key until your Sidekick has restarted completely. Once your Sidekick has fully restarted, remove the battery, then re-insert it--along with the SIM card--and turn on your Sidekick. This should restore all your factory settings.
The way to hard reset a sidekick slide is to remove the battery and leave it out for several minutes. After several minutes, put the battery back in, and the sidekick should reset itself.
