The question leaves out too much info (i.e.- what kind of warrant? - Issued by who or what court? - What was the offense?) -BUT- depending upon the crime and severity of the offense for which the person is wanted- Canadian law enforcement will usually detain subjects wanted by the US authorities.
A Canada wide warrant mean an endorsed warrant (signed by a judge) which is valid in every Province and Territory in Canada. So if you are wanted under a Canada wide warrant you are pretty much toast, don't get caught speeding, spitting in the wrong place or just being annoying, anything that will get the police called will get you caught.

If there's been a warrant drafted for your arrest, yes.
It depends on the amount the Illinois warrant is for and if it is for a criminal warrant or for a civil case. Depending on that, the arresting agency will contact the issuing agency and will determine if it is enough to go thorugh extradition.
The warrant will never expire. The only way to get it taken care of is if a judge will get rid of it.
