Hair follicle testing for drug use is extremely sensitive. The hair shaft acts as a sponge to absorb all substances metabolized by the body. The only way to rid the hair of mthamphetamine metabolites is to cut it and not do it anymore.

Hair tests show all the drugs you've taken since you started growing that hair. If you were to shave off all your hair then smoke meth every day for a week, your entire first week's hair growth would show meth.

Marijuana or THC which is what's tested for in drug tests can be found up to 90 days when tested for in the hair.
