If you shoot an indepent film with a regular camcorder can you edit the film and put it on a reel so that you can submit it to film festivals like sundance cannes etc If so what machine would you u?

If you shoot the video on 24p (24 frames oer second), you will be able to transfer directly to film. Not all camcorders have the 24p option, so check before you shoot the video

Having worked at airport security and run the various screening machinery, I would say - absolutely! The machinery poses no harm whatsoever to your camcorder or any other photographic equipment. You may, however, wish to tell the person at the counter as you are putting your camera case in to be screened that it contains a camcorder/camera. I usually do this, request a fresh bin and open the case up before it enters the machine, so the screeners can clearly see the entire contents of the bin.

Pixelation is a result of attempting to enlarge a file that contains too little data. Try setting the resolution on your camcorder to the highest setting. Consult your manual. Some older camcorders recorded in resolutions that looked OK on a TV screen, but could not stand up to the much higher resolution of a computer screen. That could also be the problem. However, if it is a newer machine you should be able to solve it via the menu.
