Depends on which island, and what time of year. The daily weather report on TV includes a surf report. Usually the Southern side of the islands has mild surf. If you are on Oahu, then Waikiki and Diamond Head usually have moderate surf. The North Shore has BIG- I mean REALLY big waves.
Learn from an experienced surfer, but don't surf waves that are too large or else you could fall over and drown.
The Bahamas yeah, just about any where with big waves. Any beach really, you can even surf where the waves break and where boogie boards are usually at.
Devon is one of the best as the waves are really big, and probably great yarmouth too ;)
from what i have heard Australia is the most popular country with surfing and i have also hard it is beautiful and how you use a surf board is ur strap the you might have on your board you attach it to your ankle and you go and it the big waves!
Big waves as it catches better but then how big is big ? they don't work very well on small waves such as 1-3 foot. i would use them in about chest high conditions 4foot + and over head conditions and bigger. have fun !
Go to some of the worlds best surf spots. Go to Shipsternsbluff, Ours, Kirra Point, and The Right. If you look up those surf spots you can find them on google maps. Kirra Point and Ours are places that aren't that big. The rest are big wave surfing spots that are fun waves to surf or to watch.
smaller ones flip better

The tide is constantly changing. The waves are formed by energy surging through the air so some energy is lighter which causes smaller and some energy is bigger and more powerful
Voodoo 13...As it't commonly known.. skateboarding was an invention as a result of surfers still wanting to surf when the waves weren't big enough to ride..
