If you stop taking hormones, your uterus will probably shed some of its lining and you'll see bleeding. There's no medical concept of "jump starting your period." If you'd like to see some blood at a particular time of the month, you can throw away the last week of active pills. Just make sure you follow the rule so that you don't increase your risk of pregnancy: Don't go more than seven days without taking an active pill.

Keep taking your pills all in order-do not skip any active pills...did you miss any pills -sometimes that can cause you to start your period early...also-maybe put a call in to your doc- if you didn't miss any pills, you shouldn't start your period while still taking active pills

In what order do you take birth control pills and which color do you take first?

Hello - You start taking birth control pills on the last day of your period. You will have seven pills which are a different colour from the other pills. The seven different coloured pills are the "non- active or sugar pills" which you start taking after you have finished taking the active pills. The active pills are the 28+ different coloured pills from the non active ones.

Are you not supposed to get a period while on the pill?

You should still get a period each month while on birth control. You will usually start your period during the week that you take your placebo pills, because they have no hormones in them. If you skip the placebo pills and start your active pills instead, this will delay your period.

What day does your period begin while taking birth control is it once you stop taking the active pills or does it begin when you finish the entire pack including the inactive pills?

If someone is on the pill and wants to delay her period only one week should she take 4 weeks of active pills with no pause and when should she start the new pack?

Normally you would take 3 weeks active pills, and 1 week nonactive. To skip your period you would take active pills in place of nonactive for the 4th week. When you would normally start a new pack, right after the 4th week, is when you would start.

Is it bad if you are on your period and you start the active pills of the contraceptive pill one day early?

No, my wife does this as well as not stopping taking the active pill after the 21st day so she can control when her period arrives or not so she can do things without worrying about having a period.

Do you start your period during the last week of 28 day birth control?

Yes. Once you start taking the sugar pills (the last week of the pack), your regular period should start in the first few days. It may continue through when you start taking active pills again, however, especially if you normally have heavy or long periods. Once on the pill for a few months, your periods should lighten, and you should only have bleeding when you take the sugar pills. Everyone's different. Also, if you don't get your period by the time you start taking active pills again, you may be pregnant, and you should see your doctor.
