If you were sexually abused by your brother as a child and suppressed it until a couple of years ago can you still press charges?

Im gonna be as honest as possible. going into something like this isn't easy emotionally and time wise. First off it depends on how long ago the crime was committed so you will have to check the guidlines of your state. Next dealing with lawyers like i have, ive seen the best and the worst of them. This type of case will bring the worse of them on both sides. Some of them know that they wont win so they will take as much money off of you until you get that bad verdict and most wont even take it at all. You have to have some type of proof or unless you was recently in trouble for stabbing someone for trying to rap you and you told them it was cause of your brothers acts and they investigate. theres too many ifs and you have to be sure that you want to put yourself and your family thru this cause this will be alot of things but easy and fast. Also last but not least you also have to think about what if you lose. If you have no proof witch in most cases you don't especially when its years old then you will MORE then likely lose.
