it depends. if you got it about 2 weeks ago you shouldn't because the piercing will get HUGE and greatly INFECTED because of the salt water.
BTW. Great question. i had to learn the hard way...
Sewage is pumped regularly into the sea around the UK (and elsewhere), Swimming in seawater and sewage is NOT the best way to help a new piercing to heal.
No you shouldnt. the chlorine in the water can over dry a new piercing.
getting in a hot tub would not hurt a new belly button piercing, but your not supposed to. you should wait at least 6weeks after you got the piercing to sit in water. (I know this because i have ma belly button pierced. i have it pierced all around =)..) Anyway, i suggest you put a water proof band-aid over it or tape or something to cover it up b4 you get in the hot tub.
Not if you take your swimming seriously, it will increase the amount of water resistance and make you go slower through the water.
Sheets#1 says: When I got mine done they told me around 6 months (if you mean by a pool because of clorine)
Yes, as long as you have soil, water, and an onion sprout, you can indeed grow an onion in your belly button.
If you have your belly button pierced , it's good to run it under warm water . Dint freak out if puss starts coming out , that's good cause that your body trying to get the nasty stuff out . After that do your normal treatment .(:
Steven Hehr - His belly button has been known to hold upward of 1.50 in quarters. In his youth, while lounging in a pool, he would fill his belly button with water and use it as an ash tray. This was before his belly button expanded to it's freakishly large size as can be seen today. If you ever wish to see his naval, all you need to do is ask. He relishes in the attention he gets from his gargantuan crater of a belly button.
No, when I got my belly button pierced my piercer told me specifically not to use peroxide or alcohol on the piercing. If peroxide or alcohol gets on it, it'll be fine but it dries out your skin which isn't good for healing or cleaning. Use soapy warm water and a sea salt water mixture to throughly clean your piercing, that's what I used, as I was following my piercer's instructions. I've had my piercing for almost 7 months and I've never had a problem with it.
yes Id say no because when i got mine pierced it didnt bleed at all. you just have to clean it daily with soap and water and dont mess around with it because if you do it will get infected and maybe bleed then
You can indeed go to the beach, try and avoid getting sea and/or pool water in your mouth though, as that will not improve healing.
You should wait at least 3 weeks or you can also use waterproof bandage after 2 weeks to go for swimming
It's mostly because your clothes rub agenst it and irritate it. Don't wear tight fitting clothing through the healing period. Another cause is that after you take a shower or clean it, water sometimes hides inside of your belly button and bacteria can start to breed there it being a moist, warm area. Dry your belly button well after it gets exposed to water.
