Usually a father dog does not know his pups
38 Stupid answer. The oldest dog is in the low twenty's. They can go longer than humans, I had a Dachshund who got pregnant at 14 and had 4 pups.
the dog will just have finishined weening of pups but cant have them straight away as it it is to much strain on the dog and you should wait at least 10 months for the dog to get used to everything again. maybe a little longer as a dog is only pregnant for a short time
It would be best for the dog if you just let her have her puppies then spay her after she recovers enough and is through nursing the pups. You really need to talk to your Veterinarian about this as if there is a life threatening problem with your dog if she continues on with carrying the pups, then she would have to be spayed. But this type of surgery would be very hard on her when pregnant. She would lose a lot of fluids and blood with the entire uterus and pups being taken out. That is why a Vet would normally want to wait until she delivers the pups and is through nursing them. Again talk to your Veterinarian about this. No matter what, get her spayed when she is healthy and not in heat.
yes, however it may have health problems and get testicular cancer or cancer in the ovaries, plus, if he/she does become pregnant, it will not be able to pass genetic traits, and most likely, the pups will die
