Once your tamagotchi is an adult, it will breed with another tamagotchi the opposite gender, or use the matchmaker to find a partner. Then it will have a baby, and when you are raising it, and check the parent and history stats, there will be the parent's names! Believe me, I have bred heaps of V3/V4 babies. Sorry, I don't have a lot of V5+ experience :(
