Can you get piercings done that early?
The only advice I have that is really worth anything is that tongue rings are easier to hide.
I have had mine for a year and a half and most people don't notice it. Took my mom 6 months before she knew. The only pain associated with my tonue piercing was swelling of the saliva glands, that lasted a day or so. Tongue Rings heal in about half the time as lip piercings. Every once in awhile when I am talking my tongue ring catches my teeth, and I cannot make the ZZzz sound anymore.
By most state laws, you cannot have any piercing under the age of 16, with the exception of earlobes. Many shops will not pierce a tongue on anyone under 18 for a few reasons. Number one is that it is a sexual piercing, and what does a 13 year old need a sexual piercing for? Secondary, be careful with any oral piercings, as the enamels on your teeth do not fully harden until your early 20's, so you run the risk of some heavy dental work in the future.
