I completed a double major in economics/polisci, and I would have to say that's the best option, heh. In all seriousness, I would say economics gave me a framework to think with and to consider problems with, while political science gave me communication skills.

You are really the only person who can answer the question as to what is best for your own situation, but I would recommend taking an Intro to Microeconomics, Intro to Sociology, and Intro to Philosophy courses, and seeing which approaches to the world you prefer and what interests you more. I have found doing something I've liked has been more beneficial than the specific line on my diploma.

Philosophy begins in wonder- Plato. The thing that separates man from plants and cows is the ability to reason. So can we have that ability to reason without wonder?

I found that a guy in his summary of Plato's Theaetetussaid that Socrates says there that "philosophy begins in wonder", but he didn't cite the page! So I had to look for it and here's the best current translation:"this wondering: this is where philosophy begins and nowhere else." Tht 155d.
