There is no known liquid water on the Moon. There may be ice deposits remaining from comet impacts. There may be minerals from which water can be extracted. In any case, water will be very expensive to produce on the Moon. Water is a necessity for human activity on the Moon or elsewhere in space. Water recycling will be required. If deposits of natural water can be found on the Moon they will be worth their weight in gold. Without a supply of water from some reliable source, permanent habitation of the Moon will be impossible.
one importance of the moon is, that it can cause phenomenon such as eclipse, tides, phases of the moon and gravitational pull
Water ice would be very important when a base is set up on the moon. Without it, water would have to be shipped from earth, which would be very expensive.
