Flowers for Algernon is simply about a man named Charlie Gordon who suffers from being mentally challenged. Charlie goes to a adult school daily to improve on his learning and education. Charlie takes many IQ tests and rarshock test to test his ability to comprehend on things and to determine how low his intelligence is. He also gets picked on a experiment that the two doctors Dr.Nemur and Dr.Strauss to see if he will get smarter within a short period of time. He writes progess reports in his book so the doctors will see if the experiment worked or not. Joe carp and Frank Reily are his "so called friends" at his job at the factory. They always take him out and gets him to drinking and embrasses him and he doesn't even realize it. You will have to read more through the story to get a better understanding. I would recommend this story to teens and even adults it is a good story.

Going out on a limb here and assuming you mean Charley Gordon in "Flowers for Algernon".It suggests that he's pretty dumb. But that's hardly a surprise. Later in the story, when he re-encounters the test and realizes what they actually wanted from him the first time, he's at first angry thinking they deliberately mislead him and then remorseful to realize that it's plausible that he was "that feeble-minded" (his own words) that he completely misunderstood what the researcher wanted him to do.
Charlie begins to realize that Dr. Nemur and Dr. Strauss may not have his best interests at heart during his operation. He notices that they are more interested in the scientific advancements they can achieve through his surgery rather than his personal well-being and emotional growth. This realization leads Charlie to question their motivations and the ethics of their experiment.
If your question is for the Penn foster exam for "Introduction to Floral Design and Flowers" I believe the answer C. express emotion. I am about to take the test I'll be back.
The reader realizes that the effects of Charlie's operation are not permanent when Charlie's intelligence begins to regress, and his writing becomes more distorted and filled with spelling errors again. This regression in his cognitive abilities indicates that the initial success of the operation was temporary.
