In the territory defined for the purpose by the United Nations. It was immediately attacked from
all directions, by all nations surrounding it, and lost much of the territory. You could look it up.
If they do, it would be Israel, set up after WW II to give the Jews their ancestral homeland.yes its called israel
It was set up for the Jewish peoples to have a homeland.
Israel
The modern nation of Israel began in 1948. The United Nations divided Palestine into two parts. There was a Jewish section and a Palestinian section. Jewish people came to the new country and set up homes and farms. Ever since then, some Palestinians have fought against the Israelis to reclaim the land they feel the UN took from them. Israel also has Arab neighbors who oppose them. Most Israelis are Jewish and believe in Judasim. Most Arabs are Muslims who pratice Islam.
The question is peculiarly constructed. Where Israel "is the enemy" of another country, the reason is that the people or power structure of that country have decided that Israel is their enemy. And the reason for THAT, at least in the case of Israel's 'neighbors', is that they have never come to peace with the concept of a Jewish country in their neighborhood, and have set their mind to eliminating it.
Israel did not produce a proof set in 1948. Indeed, only one coin dated 5708 (the equivalent to 1948 AD) was produced (a 25 mil coin), and it was not made as a proof. If you meant 1984 (Israeli date 5744), according to the Standard Catalog of WOrld Coins, the piefort proof set is valued at about US$10.00, as is the mint set.
Jewish people lived in biblical Israel, with a constant presence to the present day. The bible indicates that Jewish sovereignty in the area ended about 2000 years ago, with the Roman conquest. Getting closer to the present day, a portion of that land was under British mandatory rule when the British mandate ended in 1948. At that time, the Jewish population there declared independence as the State of Israel over an even smaller portion of that land, which had been set aside for a Jewish state in the 1947 United Nations partition vote. The Jewish people then had a state of their own after having been denied one for 2000 years.
God's will, as set forth in the Torah.
Religious prejudice. Hitler wanted to rid the world of Jewish people. The only people set to the gas chambers were members of the Jewish faith.
Agudat Israel.
The gentiles were any people that were not Israelites. So anyone that was not from the nation of Israel was considered a gentile. The Samaritans on the other hand were a people resulting from the intermixing of Israelites and Canaanites. During the Assyrian captivity some of the Israelites were left in the region of Samaria (the former capital of Israel). There were not a sufficient number of Israelites to remain separate and perpetuate the people so they intermarried with the native people of Canaan. This intermarriage was not allowed by Jewish law. Since the Samaritans had intermarried the Jewish people rejected them as Israelites. This lead the Samaritans to set up a temple of their own on Mt Gerazim. This caused an additional reason for the reject of the Samaritans by the Jewish people (who claimed that all must worship at the temple in Jerusalem).
