Only remove spark plugs, manifold bolts and anything that is screwed into these aluminum heads ONLY when the head is compleatly cold. Otherwise you risk destroying the threads that are machined into the head. If this is the 2.4L DOHC be verycareful not to cross the spark plug threads. The only way to fix crossed threads will be to remove the cam towers and that process IS a drawn out process. But, if they gotta' come out...they gotta' come out. Just unplug the coil assembly, remove the four bolts on the very top of the engine, move the fuel lines alittle if necessary, lift strait up on the coil cover, remove any stuck spark plug boots with neddle nose plires. Then use the spark plug socket W/rubber insert, socket extension, and ratchet. Lefty lucy, righty tighty....and use anti-seize when installing the plugs. They dont have to be monkey-armed tight. Just good and snugged-up.
A Toyota Allion has 4 spark plugs. These spark plugs are not hard to replace, and can be found in the engine, under the hood. After 2008 models, they are harder to replace.
Better service you car, go to meganig, the 2-4-6-8 plugs are in front of you when you look the enging but the rest are on the back hard to get them.
Incorrect spark plugs or wrong spark plug type or incorrect gap. All of thes things are critical. Wide gap or cold heat range make starting difficult. If you have an ecotec engine, #1 plug is also the cam sensor and any deviation from factory spec is bad.
On my '96, they're right across the front of the engine, 4 in a row. They might be a little hard to see, so just look for the plug wires and follow them to the plugs. FriPilot
Check the ignition coil and the spark plugs in the Acura. It sounds like the engine is not getting enough fire to ignite the fuel.
you must remove the plenum on top of the motor to excess the spark plugs it is not hard but time consuming to say the least
The 2.5L engine has 8 plugs and it does only have 4 Cylinders...It has a dual ignition system. The 2 rear spark plugs and wires on the Driver's side are hard to get to...
grab yourself a wrench, spark plug socket. Pull the wires off BY THE BOOTS, so you don't pull the wires out. take the wrench, attach the socket, and then loosen the spark plugs until they come out. Do these spark plugs 1 by 1, if you mix the wires up you will ruin your engine. the 4th spark plug is a bit hard to reach due to the alternator being in the way, but it is possible. Also, I forgot that you should probably have an extension, made my life a bit easier.
get a 3/8 in.drive Rachet,w/a 10in.3/8 extension,plus your spark plug Socket.that will do it!
FOLLOW THE SPARK PLUG WIRES TO THE BLOCK. AND YOU WILL FIND YOUR PLUGS. A FEW OF THEM ARE HARD TO CHANGE BUT JUST PERSIST AND YOU'LL BE FINE
Bad spark plugs can have a variety of effects on the performance of your car's engine. Signs of bad spark plugs include a rough idle, engine hesitation, hard starting, check engine light illuminated with a DTC P0300 and reduced engine power.
they are under a panel by the fuel rails. they are very hard to get to.
