Mollie would rather have her ribbons and sugar, rather than her dignity or her liberty. She sees ribbons and sugar as money for example, without the money (sugar and ribbons) she would become the troublesome girl (horse) she is without it. Mollie in the Soviet Union is describe as an upper class person, whom cares for nothing except her jewels and money (ribbons and sugar).

Why did Mollie desert Animal Farm?

Mollie runs away from the farm because she represents the upper class. She does not like the hard work of the working class, so she runs away to the next farm, where she gets to be treated like the times before the rebellion. She liked the way it was back in the day when Mr. Jones was around, but the animals do not want anything to do with humans. Mollie loved being treated under humans without the work. That is why Mollie ran away.

What does the green ribbons on the pigs tails represent in animal farm?

They represent the bourgeoisie in the Russian Revolution and the way they gave the proletarians their means of production in exchange for the proletarians' labor. Mollie works for the separate farms (or the bourgeoisie) and in herself represents the proletarians. Think about it. Mollie is a white horse. The proletariates were represented by the color white in the Russian Revolution. The color red represented the bourgeoisie, and in the book, what color ribbons do the other farms give her? RED.

Who would Mollie from Animal Farm represent today?

The novel, Animal Farm, was intended to satirize the Bolshevik Revolution, not modern society. Mollie represented the spoiled Russian aristocracy that, although supportive of Trotsky and Stalin to some extent at the onset of communism in the Soviet Union, soon became nostalgic for their former glory and finances, and fled to other countries. In the book, this is represented by Mollie first hiding ribbons in her stall and later taking sugar cubes from and fleeing with one of the neighboring farmers.

What does Mollie symbolize in Animal Farm?

Mollie seems to symbolize the Russian upper class. Or the followers of the czar because she was used to being treated royally and never really encouraged the revolution on the farm. Later she ran away and the pigeons reported her as being with the humans. She never really complained about her part on the farm and always wanted he ribbons and sugar lumps which represented the food and clothing the royalty wore.
