The LARGE function is similar to MAX, but instead of being just able to get the highest value, you can get the second largest or third largest etc., by specifying which number you want. So say you had values in the cells A2 to A50 and wanted to get the third largest number in that range, you would do it like this:
=LARGE(A2:A50,3)
Excel automatically appends the _____ to complete the AVERAGE function when you click the Enter box or press the ENTER key.
The NOW function
You can use the clipboard in Excel. It is a facility as opposed to a traditional function, like the SUM function or AVERAGE or MAX and other functions that are built in to Excel.

Fx represents functions. It is on the Formula Bar and on the Insert Function Button. Clicking on it starts the process of allowing you to enter a function.
The NOW function puts in the current date and time into a cell. You enter it like this: =NOW()
You can enter them by just typing them in with the keyboard. You can also use the Insert Function facility.
Insert Function in Excel allows you to enter a function into your worksheet. You can choose your function from different categories fo functions. It will also give you a little help on the function so that you can use it in the correct way.
There is no function in Excel called LOCKUP. Please ask the question again after you have found the correct terminology or can provide more clarity to the question. Some options might be LOOKUP formula or how to enter formulas in cells that are protected.
When you want to group calculations, enter a function, define the order in which numbers are calculated, and many other reasons.
The MOD function finds a modulus. That is the remainder when you divide one number into another. So if you divide 10 by 3, you would get a remainder of 1. To do that with the MOD function, you enter it as: =MOD(10,3)
