Mat 14:13 When Jesus heard it, He departed from there by boat to a deserted place by Himself. But when the multitudes heard it, they followed Him on foot from the cities.
But in the previous verse he had been talking to his disciples about the death of John the Baptist

∙ 10y agoJesus during his ministry on earth was a very persuasive speaker, not to mention showing the people a miracle or two along the way. For this reason he drew "great multitudes" of people where ever He went. This great multitude were Jewish persons. Some believed Him and others did not. First we see that He is speaking to the multitude in parables, and then to the disciples. Then at the end of chapter 13 we see the partial story of Jesus at His home town, Nazareth.
