At the time they couldn't fit the whole game on just one disc. When you get to a certain part in the game, the screen will go black with the game name and instructions saying you have to switch to disc 2. It may sound complicated and might freeze your game up but really it isn't that big a deal
If you have the Subsistence version of MGS3, the second disc (Persistence) has the secret theatre (has funny parodies of in-game cutscenes), Snake vs. Monkey, the original 1987 Metal Gear, and the 1990 Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake. That used to be the disc you used to play MGS3 online, but that has been closed down.
AnswerThe two big differences are that Substance has an improved third person camera and an online game mode. Also included are ports of the original MSX versions of 'Metal Gear' and 'Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake', a third disc containing reworked footage from MGS3 to create a 3 hour film, more Snake Vs. Monkey Levels, a Secret Theater with previously unavailable videos, and more Camouflage options.Screw all that it has them sexy ladies from rumble roses!I agree. However, they never made a Metal Gear solid 3: Substance. It was called Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater (2-Disc Special Edition.)Disc 1 - SubsistenceDisc 2 - PersistenceMetal Gear Solid 2: Substance was a remake of Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons Of Liberty. But a third disc is only in Metal Gear Solid 3 Subsistence Limeted Edition
Pop in disc 2. It should be there.
The future may hold many surprises, Metal Gear Solid 1 is on the PC, what if in the future (maybe like 50-100 years) computers are so awesome that they will release a PS3 memories disc that includes games like Metal Gear Solid 4 and the such.
No, only on disc 2 of the Subsistence version.
Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater is the prequel to Metal Gear originally made in 1987. Featuring Naked Snake, AKA Big Boss during his missions in Cold War Russia. It features many of the same aspects of previous Metal Gear games including the camera and basic gameplay. But new survival features and reworked combat spice up the gameplay. Metal Gear Solid 3: Subsistence is the special edition of Snake Eater. New features include full 3-D rotating camera, multiplayer, new camouflage, and a special features disc that has bloopers and the original games Metal Gear and Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake.
From my knowledge its only available with the Subsistance version. Its on disc two after you beat the normal game.
