But in all seriousness, Cyrus is the leader of Team Galactic, an organization dedicated to creating a "new world". You battle him on 2 occasions, both later on in the game. Also, as an added bit of info, Cyrus was originally from Sunyshore City (how ironic!). You can talk to an old couple in the city to find out more about his childhood.
