Piano impromptu by Dick Walter.
Walter Kovacs had a traumatic childhood where his father left him at a young age and his mom was a prostitute. Some older boys were making fun of his prostitute mother, so he proceeded to hit them and burn the side of one of their faces with a cigarette (bit off a piece of the kid's cheek in the movie). After this incident, police checked his home life, found it to be very miserable, and moved him to a foster home. Later on, he worked at a clothing shop where he attained his outfit, making the mask out of the white dress that a lady had left there shortly before she was raped and murdered. This sickened Walter (Rorschach) into hunting criminals down as a vigilante that killed criminals very violently. Some years later, he became the partner of another vigilante called Nite Owl. The two of them were together invited to be part of the Watchmen when it first started. When the Keene Act outlawed superheroes, All of the Watchmen retired except for two government-sponsored ones, and Rorschach. He is very mentally unstable, and considers Rorschach to be who he is, and Walter Kovacs just an empty daytime disguise. He is the main character of the Watchmen story.
