You must go to your GMC Dealer. They can get a special code out of your radio then call an 800 number and it'll give them the unlock code. they will then enter that code they receive from the 800 into your radio and it will be unlocked. you might have to prove ownership of vehicle for then to do this - the reason for this is to prevent theft of radios
You can find a radio wiring diagram for a 1993 GMC Sonoma in the vehicle's owner's manual. You can also find it at local auto parts stores.
Check your owners manual for a plastic card with the code. If you cannot find it then you have to remove the radio and call the dealer. Tell them that you disconnected your battery and the radio went into code. They will ask you for the serial # off the radio and they will give you the code. Good Luck

Your local dealer has to pull the radio and hook it to a computer to find the code. It cannot be done with the radio in the vehicle.
The Radio "Anti-theft" code use to given from dealer ( first owner bought the car) If you don't have or lots the code you only can get the code from dealer. In manual book "Audio Symphony" book have the radio code it calls "Radio card"
Unfortunately the code can not be retrieved from a working radio. If you can not find the code you have to get the serial number of the radio and call the dealer for the code.
It should be on the radio book that came with the car. there is a code on the back page if I remember correctly. also if there has been work done on it you may find the code on the radio itself.
