We have received God's grace, undeserved favor, in spite of our sins. The Bible tells us that God loved us before we loved him. We were helpless to save ourselves from sin because none of us are perfect. So Christ had to come and live a perfect life and die on the cross for our sins. Now, if we choose to accept God's gift of salvation, it is free. We cannot earn it in any manner whatsoever(Ephesians 2:8-10). Some people don't like the idea that God only gave us one way to approach Him. But think about it: If you are lost in the forest or anywhere, how many true ways back to your destination do you need? Just one. God gave us what we needed to be close to Him but our choice determines what happens next. What is your choice. Remember, that God is not asking you to just say you believe but live it as a lifestyle. Redemption means "to deliver by paying a price", and the New Testament truth of this is set forth in three Greek words: # agorazo - "to purchase in the market." # exagorazo - "to buy out of the market." # lutroo - "to loose, set free by paying a price." Taking the underlying thought of a slave market in which the subjects to be redeemed are "sold under sin" and are under "sentence of death", the purchase price is then the blood of the Redeemer who dies in their stead. * Romans 7:14 "For we know that the law is spiritual: but I am carnal, sold under sin." * Romans 8:6 "For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace:" * Hebrews 9:14-15"How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, cleanse your conscience from dead works to serve the living God? And for this cause he is the mediator of the new testament, that by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions that were under the first testament, they who are called may receive the promise of eternal inheritance." The redeemed are never again to be exposed to sale. * 2 Timothy 2:19 "Nevertheless the foundation of God stands firm, having this seal, The Lord knows them that are his. And, Let every one that names the name of Christ depart from iniquity." Freedom from the guilt and penalty of sin is guaranteed because of the person, the power, and the payment of the Redeemer. * John 8:36 "If the Son therefore shall make you free, you shall be free indeed." * Romans 8:1-2 "There is therefore now no condemnation to them who are in Christ Jesus, who walk not according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit. For the law of the Spirit of life, in Christ Jesus, has made me free from the law of sin and death." * 1Corinthians 1:18 "For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish, foolishness; but to us who are saved, it is the power of God."

Coyotito's death can be seen as a sacrificial act that brings salvation to the family, mirroring the sacrifice of Jesus in Christian theology.
