Answer: Abraham is considered the friend of Allah. He is also the father of the Prophets There is a whole chapter in the name of Abraham, his name is mentioned so many times in the Quran. He has been tested by Allah in so many ways.... and one of the greatest tests he passed was the command to slaughter his Son Ismael. Allah equals him to a nation - it says Ibrahim was a nation. for more information on Abraham or Ibrahim you can go to Quran search engine and search for "Abraham" or "Ibrahim" you will find so much. _______________________________________________ Prophet Ibrahim (or Abraham or Abram) was Muslim. Refer to question below.

It says Allah has chosen Adam, Noah, the family of Abraham, and the family of Amram (as messengers) to the people. Qur'an [3:33]
Quran says (meaning English translation): (Quran chapter 3, verses 32-33)"Say, "Obey Allah and the Messenger." But if they turn away - then indeed, Allah does not like the disbelievers. (32) Indeed, Allah chose Adam and Noah and the family of Abraham and the family of 'Imran over the worlds - (33) Descendants, some of them from others." Where it is stated that Allah (God in English and same God worshiped in Christianity and Judaism) chose Adam and Noah and the family of Abraham and Imran. You conclude that Adam is Muslim since all those chosen by Allah are assigned to call for Islam and accordingly should be Muslims.
Yes, Quran says (meaning English translation):"O you believe!...But if you pardon (them) and overlook, and forgive (their faults), then verily Allah is oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful"[Quran, chapter 64, verse 14]" Those who spend (in Allah cause) in prosperity and in adversity, who repress anger, and who pardon people; verily Allah loves the good-doers"[Quran, chapter 3, verse 134]" Have you seen those who claim sanctity for themselves. Nay, but Allah sanctifies whom He wills, and they will not be dealt with injustice..."[Quran, chapter 4, Verse 49]See the related question, below, for more information.

As mentioned in Quran, the Muslims holy book, God (Allah) is who named His believers by Muslims. Quran says (meaning English translation) "When his Lord said to him (to Ibrahim or Abraham), Be a Muslim, he said: I submit myself to the Lord of the worlds. (131) And the same did Ibrahim enjoin on his sons and (so did) Yaqoub (Jacob). O my sons! surely Allah has chosen for you (this) faith, therefore die not unless you are Muslims.(132)" [Quran. chapter 2, verse 132]
Muhammad didn't bring any new faith , he just made the teachings of Allah , the teachings of Jesus more specific and famous . since the concept of worship was same except without any corruption like Christianity with time...As per Muslim ,Islam and Quran ... the Islam is absolute religion which exists from the day one of the mankind and Adam (peace be upon him) was the first prophet/messenger of Allah ....and the last being Muhammad (peace be upon him) ......The following verses from Quran proves the point ....And He(Allah) taught Adam the names of all things; then He placed them before the angels, and said: "Tell me the names of these if ye are right."( Quran,Al-Baqara, Chapter #2, Verse #31)Allah did choose Adam and Noah, the family of Abraham, and the family of 'Imran above all people,-( Quran,Aal-e-Imran, Chapter #3, Verse #33)We(Allah) have sent thee inspiration, as We sent it to Noah and the Messengers after him: we sent inspiration to Abraham, Isma'il, Isaac, Jacob and the Tribes, to Jesus, Job, Jonah, Aaron, and Solomon, and to David We gave the Psalms.( Quran,An-Nisa, Chapter #4, Verse #163)And remember We(Allah) took from the prophets their covenant: As (We did) from thee: from Noah, Abraham, Moses, and Jesus the son of Mary: We took from them a solemn covenant:( Quran,Al-Ahzab, Chapter #33, Verse #7)We(Allah) gave Moses the Book and followed him up with a succession of apostles; We gave Jesus the son of Mary Clear (Signs) and strengthened him with the holy spirit. Is it that whenever there comes to you an apostle with what ye yourselves desire not, ye are puffed up with pride?- Some ye called impostors, and others ye slay!( Quran , Al-Baqara, Chapter #2, Verse #87)
