If you found it on your farm, you cannot keep it. You can either publish it to let your friends adopt it or hit the 'Ignore' button.
If a friend published it and you want to adopt it, just click on the ''Adopt the ___!". If no one already adopted it, you will move to a page that says the animal is now in your gift box.
