A black sheep is a person who is different from everybody else. Most sheep are white (or as white as an animal can be out in a field). If one person acts differently from the way everybody else does, or if they act differently from the cultural norm, they are a black sheep.
Usually used when comparing members of the newest generation of a family, especially the sons.
