Brahmins were who are known as Namboothiris in Kerala were considered highest in the social ladder.
However, Kerala has almost moved away from the shackles of a rigid Caste System which were prevelant for several centuries, thanks to spread of education and the social work of sages like Sri Narayana Guru, Chattampi Swamikal etc.
Even now the politicians fans the flames of Caste and Religion to exploit vote banks, but the system no longer prevents people from achieving their potential.

∙ 11y agoViswakaramas include Asari Chaptegra, Kallassary,Kalthachan,Kammala,Kamsala, Kannan,Karuvan,Kitaran,Kollan,Malayala Kammala, Moosari,Pandikammala,Pandithattan,Perumkolllan,Thachan,Thattan, Vilkurup,Villasan,Viswabrahmanan or Viswabrahmanar and Viswakarmala.
They are classified into five sub-castes--
- carpenters
- blacksmiths
- masons
- brass smiths, and
- goldsmiths.
This is on the basis of hierarchy. Hence Carpenters are the superior caste in Viswakarma.
