nowadays function that was carried out by family is carried by the state .

family was an important part of the society where primary socialization take place and in some society extended family have great relationship with there elders . they share common living place with specific roles.Kin have an important role in the education of children. grand parent was always present to support the education of children.Most family was patriacal family 'decision was taken by the man and woman stay at home to look after children.

In modern industrial societies changes in roles 'functions and size.

reproduction of children has decreased due to many factors .one of the factor is the cheaper methods of contraception.A decline in religious beliefs.And more woman enter the working force ,they put more emphasis on there career and have few children .
