The way I got doubloons was to search the ocean find ship wrecks and get all the cargo and doubloons that were on the ship.
They are everywhere, use the metal detector to find a lot on the beach.
it costs 1,000,000 ( one million ) doubloons. that's a lot of money! trade a lot, and EVERY day and it wont be long before you acquire it.
You get a larger ship by having a lot of doubloons and then go to dragon cove and buy and new ship. Hint the cheapest ship is 3000 doubloons and the most expensive is more than 30000 doubloons.
You have to get a lot of doubloons to get the Phonix Warbird by beating other ships so you can get a lot of doubloons from them. When you have about 500,000 you can loan another 500,000 from the bank and buy the phonix Warbird and to beat him fast you chase him around skullduggery island and then when your on the side and captain crawfish is on the other and you are anchored then you have to shoot him repeatedly so you can beat him.
To get a large number of doubloons, sail around Dragon Cove (where you can sink sea monsters), or above Golden Harbor (where you will fight pirates). The accumulation of thousands of doubloons is a slow process, until you have large ships that can hold a lot of cargo.
Sea Monsters and PiratesSinking a sea monster or pirate is a good way to get a LOT of doubloons, but it is risky unless you are very good at it. You will lose some of your doubloons if you are sunk. Generally, the sea creatures attack at the left side and above Dragon Cove. So once you have 2 or more cannon, you can hunt them there. Note that smaller ships will fill the cargo completely with just one creature. Beware of multiple attacks by creatures and ships.
It costs 1,000,000 doubloons. That sounds like a lot considering you start salvaging from the raft for only a few dozen doubloons. But the way to proceed is to collect enough doubloons to buy a smaller ship first, then as you get more and more doubloons with the bigger ship, you can buy the next size up, until you are making thousands of doubloons on each trip. The first ship is the Jimmy Rigger for 1500 doubloons. Once you have more than 750, you can borrow the difference at Golden Harbor Bank (subject to paying it back with an interest charge). Go to the shipbuilder at Dragon Cove and buy the boat, which you can use to trade between the five islands. Once you can afford a ship with cannons, you can hunt sea creatures above and left of Dragon Cove, for even more salvage,
The object is to collect doubloons by salvage (from the water) or by trade (buying and selling on each island). When sailing from island to island, you should initially avoid the pirates and pink sea creatures who can sink your ship. Don't sail through thunderstorms or into the rocky reefs -- these will also damage your ship. If you are sunk, you lose part of your doubloons and cargo. As you amass more doubloons, you can buy larger ships, including those with cannons that can fight the pirates and creatures. You can eventually hire very expensive crewmen who will improve your ship's performance : repairing damage, sailing faster, holding more cargo, or firing cannons faster.Sinking Sea Creatures and PiratesThis is risky, but can generate a lot of salvage when they sink.(for more details, see the section at the related question)
I am surprised there is not one but if if you really wanna rack up some doubloons without cheats your best shot is to trade and salvage in the sea. here is another way if you circle around the Golden Harbor island you'll find a lot salvage, I found 100,000 doubloons in half an hour doing that, or destroy a little ship by making it bump into rocks or shooting it with cannons. After you sink an enemy ship salvage should pop up, get the salvage and it should give you at least 4,000 doubloons and 300 cargo if that does not help...
It took me a couple hours to get the best ship. Like a lot of people's suggestions buy cheap from one island and sell high to the next. I only sold to Parrot Port and didn't buy from there because everything was over twenty doubloons. If something is over 20 doubloons don't buy it. I first saved up $30,000 to buy that ship because then you have a ship with plenty of cargo, faster speed, and cannons. After that it takes no time at all to get money because you have so much space. Trust me, you'll get plenty of money because you can defeat creatures and sell more. Good luck! If you sell your cargo at Parrot Port (the island just right of Fort Ridely island)you can get more doubloons (money on skullduggery island)and get more doubloons. One time I almost got my cargo limit full and then,I sold all my cargo and got into the thousands with just one unit!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You can only get a few at first, because your cargo area is limited. But once you have 3000 doubloons, you can buy an actual ship that collects more salvage. You can buy bigger ships as you can afford them, and even take out loans at the bank at Golden Harbor (these need to be repaid before a larger loan can be made). To gather a lot of salvage once you have a ship with cannons, go to the area above Dragon Cove and sink Sea Monsters.
Once you are sailing among the five outlying islands, you will collect doubloons (cash) and cargo as salvage (it is just floating in the water). You will buy and sell cargoes, trying to make a profit by buying low and selling higher. Each of the islands except Parrot Port has a cargo you can buy very cheaply. Once you have enough doubloons (3000 for the smallest new ship), you can buy one at the Ship Shape shipbuilders shop at Dragon Cove. Used ships have a small resale trade-in value.
