You ride left hand to left hand, so if you were circling to the right and someone else to the left, you would need to be on the inside track so that your left hand passed closest to their left hand as you passed each other. Then it works vice versa. As far as crossing the school is concerned you need to plan ahead, look forwards, be aware of where everyone is and be in full control of your horse.
Person to the right or first to get to intersection
the person with the the highest gaint
In indoor riding schools, the rider who is in front has the right of way to avoid accidents. In outdoor riding schools, riders should follow a predetermined path and communicate with others to prevent collisions. Overall, it is important for riders to be aware of their surroundings and communicate effectively to ensure safety for everyone.
Whoever is receiving the lesson/being instructed or who is a more advanced rider.
While riding in at a riding school either in an indoor or outdoor arena people are expected to pass left to left. Anyone going at a faster gait has the right of way. Slower riders should move towards the inside track and not ride on the rail.
The rider who does not have right of way do in an indoor or outdoor riding school should go into the inside track.
Pony Club, BHS (at riding schools), or riding club
It all depends on which riding school you go to. Some French riding schools are very strict and most horses are not well-kept, and the people who go to the schools are sometimes (very) mean. However, there are also riding schools that are pretty good and the instructors are nice and patient. From what I've heard, most French riding schools are pretty strict, though. C.J.
The person who has right of way is the rider with the highest gaits!!! -----actually The official rule/right of way is left shoulder to left shoulder
Right to left
No! You ride left hand to left hand so if you are riding on an anti clockwise circle you will be on the inside track and vice versa. You need to ride collected, not fast, when you canter in a school and you need to be aware of where everyone else is - they will not be able to move out of your way fast enough if you are at the canter!
When riding in an arena you are supposed to pass LEFT TO LEFT. So let's say you were on the right rein and passing someone on the left rein you would ride on the inside track and the other person would be on the outside track so that you would pass left shoulder to left shoulder. Hope this helps :)
