How do the soldiers' feelings about Macbeth change over the course of the play?
This is a hard question to answer because we do not hear much from the soldiers in Macbeth's army after Act 1 Scene 2, where the bloody sergeant praises him to the skies. The bloody sergeant was certainly proud of Macbeth as a courageous soldier. As the play goes on, however, we do not hear much from the soldiers serving under Macbeth, although we see him mistreat messengers by calling them "cream-faced loon" and the like. What evidence is there that's Banquo macduff and the other do not trust Macbeth?
