Only God knows what is in the heart of a person(1 John 3:19+20) when someone commits suicide (self murder). The future of that person rests in God's hands, but we can trust that he is aware of the circumstances surrounding what happened, and will handle it perfectly. He is the Father of tender mercies and the God of all comfort. 2 Corinthians 1:3

(1 John 4:8) Psalms 103:14 (Acts 24:15)(Deuteronomy 32:4)

Answer:

The same thing that happens to everyone whose life ends: they die, and await the Day of Judgment, following Jesus' thousand year rule on earth - Rev.20. We will all give an accounting to God for our works, whether they be good, or whether they be evil. [Eccle.12:14]

"...as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the Judgment: so Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for Him shall He appear the second time without sin unto salvation." (Heb.9:27-28)

It's impossible for men to assess matters of the human spirit, it being, like God, an invisible entity. Suicide is the result of utter hopelessness within an individual. In this world, science labels men with "diseases" of the mind or "mental illnesses" with different names. It rejects the biblical aspect of the possibility of "unclean spirits" inhabiting [possessing] a human mind [spirit]. A condition which Jesus ran into continuously... and for which He displayed amazing compassion and mercy for the individual... and miraculous healing power.

It's hard to imagine anyone living "in Christ" feeling "hopeless"... so, it's highly likely that such a person never knew the Truth of God. They shall therefore have it revealed to them in the Judgment. At that time, they will have the opportunity for forgiveness, the remission of their sins and receive God's salvation.

This is how Jesus portrays the "Last Great Day," Judgment Day, to us in The Bible:

"...in the last day, that Great Day of the Feast [of Tabernacles, that pictures the millennial rule of Christ on earth], Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man thirst, LET HIM COME UNTO ME, AND DRINK. He that believeth on Me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of Living Water. (But this spake He of the [Holy] Spirit, which they that believe on Him should receive..." (John 7:37-39).

Many men are taught that Judgment Day is "condemnation day"... a time of the virtual wholesale condemnation and destruction of men for the sins they committed in their lives. But that's not what Jesus is telling us here.

And while there will be some who shall abjectly refuse to allow themselves to submit to God's rule and authority over them... and shall be cast into the Lake of Fire roaring before Christ's throne - most men will bow before Him gratefully and with tears of uncontrollable joy at His everlasting lovingkindness and forgiveness... be saved.

Moses reveals the Judgment to us this way through the vignette of life pictured in the exodus from Egypt. Egypt is the symbol for "sin, and man's bondage to it." Pharaoh and his army is "Satan and his demons." The Red Sea is the "first death that's appointed to all men," against which the Israelites' backs were. Moses told them as they stared death in the face:

"...Fear ye not, stand still, and SEE THE SALVATION OF THE LORD, which He will shew to you to day... the Lord shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace." (Ex.14:13-14)

Our sins are forgivable. And despite what notions men might have regarding Judgment Day - while it will be a most sobering time of reflection for all men in their accounting for themselves before their Creator - our Loving God above all wants to forgive us our sins. If only we will let Him by our placing our faith and trust in Him. Now, for those whom He is calling now... or in the Judgment for the rest.

Ecclesiastes 7:17, 21-22 "Do not be overwicked, and do not be a fool-why die before your time?...Do not pay attention to every word people say, or you may hear your servant cursing you- for you ktimes you now in your heart that many you yourself have cursed others."

Another answer:

Sin is "the breaking of the Ten Commandments, the Law of God" - I John 3:4]. And one of those laws is; "Thou shalt not kill." [do no murder, is the best English translation] (Ex.20:13 KJV)

Weymouth's New Testament: "You have heard that it was said to the ancients, 'THOU SHALT NOT COMMIT MURDER..." (Matt.5:21 WEY).

Murder is murder [and a sin] whether committed against others or oneself. It's not a good idea [spiritual thought] in any case. But, Jesus tells us:

"EVERY SIN or blasphemy CAN BE FORGIVEN - except blasphemy against the Holy Spirit, which can never be forgiven." (Matt.12:31 NLT New Living Translation)

The ACT of murder [theft, lying, adultery, etc] happens because a "spiritual thought" of anger, hatred... or demonic influence is planted in the mind and heart of a person. All physical "acts of sin" [breaking God's laws] begin with a "thought."

"But I say, if you are angry with someone, you are subject to Judgment! ..." (Matt.5:22 NLT).

All the sins of men shall be brought into Judgment on that Last Great Day of God's plan of Salvation for mankind.

Self-murder is usually the result of "low self-esteem," which is often the influence of the "spirit realm" [demonic subjection, which man generally disregards as real; today, treated with drugs]. Such influence [besides being brought up being degraded by others to the point of coming to believe what others say about one's self-worth]... is an ages-old tragedy and an inner feeling of utter hopelessness. This is something a person cannot overcome alone... and, like all the other sins of men living their lives apart from, or in ignorance of their Creator's laws and ways... CAN BE forgiven... at the time of the Judgment at the Last Day.

God determines the length of our lives. Ecclesiastes 3:1 states:

"To everything there is a season........A time to be born and a time to die...".

So when a man or woman takes their own life it is not in God's timing but their own. God says "Do not commit murder" ( Ex. 20:13). So the one who takes their own life murders themselves. Tragically, many who attempt suicide never seek professional help or care.

There are so many and varied reasons why people choose to take their own life. Today there are many organisations helping people to work through their difficulties, but then again, some people don't want to seek help.

Ending ones life by their own hand is not God's will. Those who suicide believe all their problems will be over, they will just "sleep" for ever. However, that is not what God's word says. Every one of us will give an account of our life to Him.

There is one large religious group that says those who suicide will go to hell, but God is compassionate and merciful and only He knows the end from the beginning of each person. He alone weighs the heart. In Psalm 139:2-3 it states "....You understand my thoughts....and are aquainted in all my ways.."

Many years ago my boyfriend took his life when I was an 18 y.o. and I suffered intense turmoil, culminating in a break-down. When I became a "born-again" Christian, God healed the heart-ache and pain that I had and now I am "free" which is what God wants for His children. He took all our hurts at the Cross so that we could have peace. He knows the world brings tribulations and sorrows and He came to "set the captives" free. God is for us, not against us.

I believe God has the answers for a happy and fulfilling life. The world offers "worldly pleasures" but those pleasures don't always bring happiness and don't deal with the "inner man". So many young, and not so young, people don't see the need for God in the 21st century and want to go it alone, but when the going gets too tough many of them have nowhere to turn. There's a void in their lives but they can't understand that God loves and wants to be there for them and He alone can fill that void.

But God has come, through Jesus, to heal the broken-hearted - Ps. 147:3.
