The Bible does not say Christians have to donate, but giving money to good causes for the Lord is nice. The Bible does say that we should care for widows and orphans.
yes they do
Christians do not worship any book, but the do read and study the Bible. They may give thanks for it, and feel blessed at have the opportunity to read it but that is all.
This is the thing! Christians do not have any rules. They are free in every way when they give up their life to Christ and receive Holy Spirit.
If a Christian is following the teachings of the Holy Bible, then no, money would not be important. Jesus teaches that we should give to those less fortunate than us and give up our lives to Him to have true salvation. Throughout the New Testament, Jesus encourages His followers to sell their possessions and follow Him. There are many verses in the Bible about money, and how to live with money. Philippians 4:19 says "And my God will meet all your needs according to his glorious riches in Christ Jesus." Christians are to trust God to help them succeed in this life and in heaven, and only through Jesus can we have "glorious riches". 1 Timothy 6:10 says " For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some people, eager for money, have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs." The Bible fully warns people about the dangers of money issues, but note that it does not say the money is the problem. The problem is a LOVE of money. When we get obsessed about money and extra goods, we lose sight of what is important in life. To Christians, a Godly life is important, and money can get in the way of that. In summery, money can make us lose sight of God, and it is better if we give it to support people in need. Money is a part of life, but it should not be an obsession or problem for Christians if we live according to the Holy Bible.
Tithing is not a part of New Testament Christianity. Nowhere in the Bible are Christians commanded to tithe. Tithing was replaced with giving. Now if you want to give money you can do so. There is a story in the Bible about a few rich men who gave a ton of money. A poor women then came along and gave only one coin. Who gave more? The women, because she was doing it not to be boastful or proud. Maybe, 10% of your earnings, if you can afford it. Answer: The Bible states that 10% is the minimum to give back to God in order to keep your priorities straight; because in practice, 100% belongs to God. Usually this means giving to your local church, which is a charity. If you also want to give to charities that's entirely up to you. Use your money on what God has lead your heart towards.
Christians are supposed to give 10% of their income, or tithing, to the poor, just as Jacob promised in God in the Book of Genesis. Some Christians give 10%Before taxes, however most Christians give 10% of their income After taxes to the poor.
