Obviously because he had seen many people dying just before he got his ration. Food doesn't taste good if you just saw someone being killed.

It is not correct because earlier in the story after other men were hung he said "I remember on that evening, the soup tasted better than ever...", because they were so hungry. The actual reason the soup tasted like corpses when the young boy was hung is because children symbolize innocence, and the boy being hung showed a loss of innocence.
