because he killed the a river clan warrior ( bluestar's mate) and tigerstar killed redtail. if you read the first seres you will find out. NOT TRUE! Tigerstar killed Redtail hoping that Bluestar would pick him as the next deputy. He was in 3 books. He is alive in 2 books,but defaultly 3. Tigerstar lied about his death so he can be deputy. The second,is his kit life. The 3rd,he is deputy and granted 9 lives. And killed by tigerstar,but if he has 9 lives and died 2 times in the same book,which means he will be reincarnated and have 6 lives left to go. And he didnt die again.
