The sun is actually white. It only looks yellow or orange to us earthlings due to the atmosphere.....also because of the radiation from the sun. It gets processed in our eyes as yellow because of some thing called cones in our eyes

The Sun is not really yellow, it is a bluish hot-white. It only looks yellow (and red at sunset and sunrise) because of all the gases and dust between it and your eye.
