If you get a shell and just past halfway in the first castle there is a green pipe that shoots you up. When you fall down go through the door. In the top right corner of the moving blocks you can see a gap. Go through the gap and you will come down through a pipe. You can't do this without a shell. Then run and when you turn into a sliding shell destroy the blocks that block your path and then go through the pipe on the top right and the canon will be unblocked. after that, the cannon will take you all the way to world 5!!!

Smash the blocks and continue. Jump on the red flag at end of level to unlock the warp cannon.

Use the shell you hit three blocks underneath the yellow pipe (which you don't go through), and then there will be another three blocks in front of a red pipe. Break those blocks and then go through the red pipe. You will be at the red flag, which should allow you to use the warp cannon on World 1.The warp cannon shoots you to World 5.

You just jump like you would normally, unless you mean the blocks on the ground and then if you run at them quickly and press down you will get Mario/Luigi to go into their shell and you will rebound off anything you touch. Much like Koopa shells would if you throw them at things.
