The Slender Thread was a movie- it would have made a good radio drama- about an attempt by a psychologist ( a black man- Sidney Poitier) to prevent a suicide by a young woman- who is calling from a motel telephone I have never seen the film I believe it was made AFTER l962 so might have been ( how Monroe might have evolved if help was gotten in time) the title refers to the life-line in the film the telephone wire connection. It is a by nature, controversial subject for films.
