In the new line of My Little Pony (G3 or Generation 3), Spike is seen as a 1000-year-old dragon that guards this magical flower under Celebration Castle. Whoever touches the flower shall become Princess of Ponyville. Spike helps train and protect the princess. He has lost most of his powers from the 80s line (G1), like breathing fire.
