Why is dextrose added to salt?

Dextrose is added to salt primarily as an anti-caking agent. It helps prevent the formation of clumps in the salt, ensuring that it remains free-flowing and easy to pour. Additionally, dextrose can help maintain the stability and quality of the salt over time. This addition is especially common in table salt and salt used for food processing.

How to treat for chronic dehydration?

Drink lots of water... all the time.

When you should use normal salineand when you should use dextrose?

It depends on which context you are talking about. If it is in IV admixtures it depends on the compatibility of the drug and what length of time it is needed to be stable for. Some drugs are stable for only a couple of hours in saline, but may be stable for much longer in dextrose, and vice versa.
