No it doesn't --pretty sure it does in the movie, but not the book-- In Stephenie Meyer's version, Bella never tries to turn down the heat in Edward's car; she touches his hand and feels how cold it is in Chapter 2: Open Book, while he's reaching for her hand for his turn to look at the microscope.
In the book? No. There are several scenes in which she is making dinner for herself and for Charlie and there is clear mention of meat ingredients. In the movie? Yes. For some reason, Catherine Hardwicke saw fit to make Bella's character a vegetarian, to have a little fun with the parallel between herself and the 'vegetarian' vampires.
She was a great singer, and was good with the law. She was happy and came from a good family. Not to mention her beautiful voice. Everyone wanted to be like her, and it was ok, because she wasn't "bad".
