When the CPE is not needing to transmit or receive user data. This mode means the CPE is completely deregistered from the network. It frees up valuable resources from the network so that other users can connect to transfer and receive user data. As this feature is only available on Mobile WiMAX, the CPE will continue to scan the network and keep track of it's location, providing a paging update to the network when it moves out of a predefined location. This is so the network can update the CPE location so that the next time it needs to receive data from the network it can be quickly located.
