The Protestant denomination of Christianity was formed from this breakaway.
Yes I would donate money to start a christian church only.
The Church of England, or Anglican church was once upon a time Catholic. It was controlled by the pope. Then it became Protestant. From that Anglican church came an Oxford educated priest named John Wesley. He, with the help of his brother Charles and many others, began a movement which evolved into the Methodist Church. So, one is the state church of England, the other an international protestant denomination.
The ANGLICAN church IS protestant but not as protestant as its breakaways, i.e. Methodists, Baptists or the Calvinist Presbyterians who considered Anglicans too papish, at least in appearance if not in practice.

It's just Catholic, not Roman Catholic. Roman is an epithet first commonly used in England after the protestant revolt to describe the Catholic Church. It is never used by the official Catholic Church. There are literally hundreds of major Catholic relief agencies around the world offering help to the common man. Priests, nuns and lay people are encouraged by the Church to perform acts of charity whether at home or on a mission.
A:Martin Luther initially sought to work within the Catholic Church to reform the use of indulgences. The Catholic Church refused to countenance any change, as a result of which Luther started the Protestant Reformation. Ironically, his reforms eventually did lead to change within the Catholic Church, in the form of the Catholic Reformation.
