Yes, nuclear power plants produce electric power (electricity).
Electricity produced from:Fossil power plants (Coal, natural gas, oil fueled power plants)Renewable power plants (solar, wind, biomass, ... )nuclear power plants
Coal is used to generate almost half of all electricity produced in the United States. Besides electric utility companies, industries and businesses with their own power plants use coal to generate electricity. Power plants burn coal to make steam. The steam turns turbines which generate electricity.
In the US it is about 20% overall

About 20 percent, or a little less
Electric power plants
To some extent yes they are environmentally friendly. However the electricity that is used to power the car has to come from somewhere. In some cases it is produced by coal or gas fired power plants which are not environmentally friendly.
Yes. Electric power plants powered by coal, natural gas, and nuclear power use heat to produce electricity.
approximately 20 percent
IMO, the natural gas vehicle is far better. Longer range, and uses no gasoline or oil like an electric car and natural gas is an abundant source of fuel. Electric cars have to be recharged. The electricity is produced by either a gasoline engine or form the electric power grid. Allot of the electric power today is produced by coal fired plants. The natural powered car is far superior.
