His incredible observations! once Watson even says, "a hundred years ago you would have been burned" meaning he would have been thought to be a witch (or whatever you call a guy witch) and back in the day, they burned witches, even if they weren't actually a witch, just thought to be one. Which Holmes is obviously not! ;)
