George Washington moved into Mount Vernon as a child. His father moved the family into the plantation in 1735. At the time it was named Little Hunting Creek Plantation. The family moved out in 1738 to Ferry Farms. When George was 11, his father died and left all of his properties to his children. George moved back into the home as an adult in 1758.
He likely began living there as early as 1752 (age 20) when his half-brother Lawrence died, and began a lease from his brother's wife in December, 1754, at the age of 22. He became sole owner in 1761, having occupied it with his wife Martha when they married in 1759.
George Washington made the move to Mt. Vernon sometime between 1754 and 1761. He became and heir to the estate in 1754 but did not take full ownership until 1761.
Back then there was no White House so he never moved into the white house but his first term started in 1787
