The longest traveled tornado on record occurred on March 18, 1925. This F5 tornado, known as the Tri-State tornado was on the ground for 3 hours, 29 minutes and traveled 219 miles.

This tornado also killed 695 people, making it the deadliest tornado in U.S. history.
