Dwight D. Eisenhower was first elected on November 4, 1952 and was inaugurated to his first term as the 34th President on January 20, 1953. He was reelected on November 6, 1956 and was inaugurated to his second term on January 20, 1957. In each election Eisenhower ran against Democrat Stevenson.
